Privacy policy

Last updated 30 October 2026.

Your documents and their contents never leave your browser.Rowtrove reads the PDF, finds the tables and writes the CSV on your device. No account is needed. This policy explains the little data that does reach us or the services we use, and what stays on your device.

Your documents

The PDF you choose is read by your browser on your device. Neither the file nor its text, tables or file name is sent to Rowtrove or anyone else. The browser enforces this: the site's security settings let the page send data only to this site and to our statistics service, and you can check it yourself.

What is saved in your browser

So that a refresh, a closed tab or a closed browser does not lose your work, the converter saves the open document in your browser's storage on this device:

This copy stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Only one document is kept. It is deleted:

You can also delete it by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings. Nothing is saved in a private window after it closes, and nothing is synced to other browsers or devices. On a shared computer, choose Forget when you are done.

Keeping your work is part of the conversion you asked for and is used for nothing else, so it does not need a consent banner.

Cookies

Rowtrove sets no cookies and uses no tracking technology that stores anything on your device, apart from the saved document described above. That is why there is no cookie banner.

Usage statistics

To learn how the site is used, we count visits and steps in the converter with a statistics service that works without cookies. We send these events with our own code, not the service's script. Each event carries:

Events never contain document contents, table values or file names. Like any request on the internet, they reach the statistics service with your IP address and your browser's user agent. The service does not store them: it uses them to work out an approximate location (country and region) and an anonymous visit identifier that changes regularly and cannot be used to recognise you on later visits. Its own service logs may hold IP addresses for a short time for security and operations.

The statistics are kept for 6 months. The service stores them in the United States and processes them only on our instructions. The transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We cannot link the statistics to you.

“Report a bad extraction”

If a table comes out wrong, you can choose to send us an anonymous summary of the page layout: page and table sizes, counts of lines and columns, confidence levels and whether you adjusted the result. It contains no text from your document. You see exactly what will be sent before you confirm, and it is sent as a statistics event as described above.

If you want to, you can also email us a sample document, preferably redacted or made up. That is always your choice and goes by your own email, as described below.

When you email us

When you write to [email protected], we receive your email address, your name if your email shows it, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to answer you. We delete support emails 12 months after the conversation ends, or sooner if you ask.

Please don't send documents with personal or confidential data. If we need a sample to fix an extraction, a redacted or made-up document is best.

We process the data above on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): to deliver and protect the site, to understand how it is used so we can improve it, and to answer your messages. The data are kept to what these purposes need.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Paid features, when they come, will be covered here before they are offered.

You can ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, and to correct, delete, restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable form. Write to [email protected]. Your documents and the saved copy in your browser are never with us: you delete them yourself as described above. The statistics hold nothing we can link to you, so we cannot find or delete records about you in them.

If you are in the European Union and think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country. We would be glad to hear from you first.
